Fancy dress hire outlet ‘Act One’ in Fazeley has experienced a flurry of success since opening its doors back in August this year.  The business was set up by owner manager Lucy Taylor, who has the single most important qualification required to run a fancy dress store - she has a background in entertainment, so dressing up for her is second nature!

Lucy has attributed her successful start in the trade to a number of things, including a great selection of costumes, friendly service, and having a great sense of humour.  She understands that not everybody feels comfortable dressing up or hiring a costume, so if you appear sheepish when entering the store Lucy will do all she can to help you relax, and you will probably find, like so many of her customers have, that you will end up leaving the store in stitches!

Fancy dress is about fun, theatrics and becoming a new character. To help you make the most impressive transformation Lucy will help you find a costume that not only matches the occasion you are attending, but also your own personality, enabling the transformation to be more natural and comfortable.

With over 1800 costumes available there is certainly something for everyone at Act One.  There are costumes for seasonal events such as Halloween or Christmas. Historical costumes including period garb from medieval to Victorian or Edwardian, or modern history outfits from the Sixties and Seventies outfits, including a great selection of platform shoes!

Act One also has a selection of costumes from around the world, outfits covering pop & rock, film, TV and characters, heroes and villains, as well as classic couples outfits including pirates and wenches, vicars and tarts, cowboys and Indians. And if you planning you hen night Act One also has a saucy selection of costumes perfect for the occasion.

Costumes come in a broad range of sizes including outfits for the fuller figures and if required, Lucy can also provide temporary adjustments to your outfit, making sure they fit just right.

All costumes are of a professional quality, and are always presented in a fresh and clean way to customers, so you will never feel like you are wearing someone else’s shoes - even if you are!
